Adam and Krista Woodworth spent 19+ years navigating the Special Education system in Illinois when their son, Tyler, was put into the system.
Krista has a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Illinois University and real life experience in the navigation of the IEP meetings. Her strengths are in research and the knowledge of parents rights. She worked tirelessly to create the roadmap to ensure Tyler had both a fair and appropriate education in the least restrictive environment. Full inclusion with “regular ed” peers was always the goal. When Krista isn’t consulting, she’s substitute teaching, usually in special education classrooms.
Adam has a Bachelor in Business degree from Western Illinois University. He has experience on both sides of the table as both a father navigating the special education system and as a school board member for School District 91. He worked with his fellow school board members and administration to ensure that special education students were given equal opportunity. He also has a unique perspective in understanding the diverse challenges school districts face in terms of funding and resources available. When Adam isn’t consulting, he is the Executive Director of the Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn, where he has successfully integrated disability awareness into exhibits, programs and culture.
Adam has a business-themed blog at https://woodworthadam.wordpress.com/
